Most mornings, Bob’s pursuit of the the local wildlife takes him to the bottom of a very large oak tree. There he jumps and whines because the squirrels he so loves to chase have gone where dogs can’t go. Around the tree he runs, as if the other side might provide an easier route up the tree’s trunk. I grin and enjoy Bob’s antics.
If not for the trees, I believe the dog might occasionally get his prize. But the squirrel knows what Bob must experience again and again, dogs can’t climb trees.
Soon, the squirrel is forgotten and on our walk we go… until Bird! and off he goes again.
